Bluegill and goggle-eye are bedding all through the shallow cypress flats and it is the easiest bite of the summer. Drop a cricket or a small jig under a cork along the bank and you will not wait long. Bass have been a little sluggish in the heat — best window is the first hour of light on a topwater before the sun gets on the water.
